How it fits together
One database. Everything in sync.
The systems I build can all share one database: the website, the till, the back office and the staff app. Sell something at the counter and the website knows straight away.

Problems I've solved.
Real problems from real clients, and what I did about them.
Aladdin Video Games has sold games and electronics for more than 30 years. I built everything they run on now: the online store, the admin panel behind it, and the software at the counter.
30+years in business
4systems built
2languages, Arabic and English
3people run all of it
The starting point
A great store with no way to sell online.
Aladdin is run by a team of three, so whatever I built had to run without anyone babysitting it. Their domain still pointed at an unfinished WordPress site, and its old pages were still the ones showing up on Google.
They needed a store customers could actually buy from, a back office they could manage themselves, and tools for the counter that keep working when the internet doesn't.
What I built
Four systems, one store.
Online store
A PC builder for putting together a custom rig
Mega-menu, spec filters and search in both languages
Dark mode, recently viewed items and install-as-app
Admin panel
Products, offers and orders in one place
A menus editor that drives the whole navbar
Full backups with a selective restore
Desktop ERP
Installment sales for bigger purchases
A cash drawer counter and scheduled backups
Shipped with a full PDF user manual
Point of sale
Barcode scanning, discounts and printed receipts
End-of-day cash counts and Z-reports
Works fully offline, and a crash can't corrupt a sale
Going live
Launch was more than flipping a switch.
01
Their own domain
Moved aladdinvideogames.com onto Cloudflare without breaking the mailboxes they already used.
02
Order emails that scale
Replaced a 200-a-month email service with emails sent from the database: 300 a day for free, in the store's own colours, with product photos.
03
Locked down
Every table locked, the admin password hashed, and every admin change checked by the database itself.
04
Found on Google
New titles, product data with price and stock, a sitemap built from the database and server-rendered shop pages, to replace the old WordPress results.
Since launch
They keep coming back for more.
After launch, Aladdin started paying for new features: a menus tab so they can rebuild the navbar themselves, a three-level category menu with images, and a dark mode that keeps their white-background product photos looking right.
And because it's a games store, there's a playable Pac-Man hidden in the navbar, with a maze shaped like the word ALADDIN.
Real problems from real clients. What went wrong, and what I did about it.

4business systems
Online store
Order emails that couldn't keep up
Problem
The email service capped out at 200 emails a month, about 100 orders, and its keys were sitting in the site's public code.
Fix
Moved order emails into the database itself: 300 a day for free, keys locked away, designed in the store's colours with product photos.
Google
Invisible on Google
Problem
Products showed up with no picture or price, hundreds of pages weren't indexed, and old pages from a previous site still ranked.
Fix
Rewrote every title and description, added product data with price and stock, built a sitemap from the database and server-rendered the shop.
Security
One password, properly locked
Problem
A team of three wanted one shared admin login, not separate accounts, but the database behind it was wide open.
Fix
Locked every table, hashed the password and routed every admin change through checks in the database. No extra logins, nothing exposed.
Point of sale
A till that never loses a sale
Problem
A shop counter can't stop when the internet drops or the power cuts in the middle of a sale.
Fix
The POS keeps running offline and saves every change safely, so a crash can't corrupt the data. End-of-day cash counts show over or short at a glance.
HR system
Check-ins nobody can fake
Problem
Staff could check in for each other, or check in without being at the shop.
Fix
Checking in needs the worker's own registered phone, a location inside the shop and a QR code at the counter that keeps changing.
Cake shop
Orders that fit the kitchen
Problem
Every cake is made to order, with flavours, fillings, custom flower colours and prep times of three to five hours or more.
Fix
An order flow that prices every choice as you pick it, and only offers same-day delivery when the kitchen can actually make it.
Online store
A menu that slipped away
Problem
The new three-level category menu kept snapping shut as you moved the mouse towards it, and it worked one time and failed the next.
Fix
Found the cause: the menu was being rebuilt from scratch on every change. Fixed that, and gave it a short grace period so moving diagonally into it feels natural.
Online store
Specs that kept reshuffling
Problem
The client set the order of a product's specifications, saved it, and got them back in a different order.
Fix
Traced it to the database quietly re-sorting them, and changed how they're stored so the order always survives. Proved it on a real database before shipping.
Design
Dark mode with white photos
Problem
The store wanted a dark mode, but every product photo has a white background baked in.
Fix
A dark navy page with the product cards kept white, so every photo still looks right. One rule holds it together instead of hundreds of edits.
Design
A navbar that ran out of room
Problem
When the client added a new menu group, the navbar broke onto a second line, even on a wide screen.
Fix
The links were squeezed into the search bar's width. Freed them to run edge to edge, and made long labels shrink before the main links ever get cut off.
Sharing
Links that looked empty on WhatsApp
Problem
Sharing a product with a customer on WhatsApp showed a plain link with no photo or price.
Fix
Every product page now carries its own preview, so a shared link shows the photo, the name in both languages and the price.
Launch
Moving a domain without losing email
Problem
The store's domain still ran an unfinished WordPress site, and the company's mailboxes lived on it too.
Fix
Moved the domain to Cloudflare with every mailbox kept working, then put the new store and its order emails on the same domain.
Design
The Arabic font that never showed
Problem
Arabic text on the store was quietly falling back to a plain default font on every page.
Fix
Tracked it down to one misplaced line in the stylesheet. Arabic now shows in the font it was designed with.
Store manager
Installments without the paperwork
Problem
A shop that sells on installments needs to know who owes what, when it's due and what's in the drawer.
Fix
A Windows store manager with installment sales, a cash drawer counter for every shift and scheduled backups, shipped with a one-click installer and a printed manual.
Gelateria
New photos without calling a developer
Problem
The gelateria's team adds new photos themselves, and didn't want to wait on code changes every time.
Fix
Built the site to pick up new images on its own. They drop the photo in, and it appears in the right place.
Game
A level for every song
Problem
Hand-charting a rhythm game level for a single song takes hours, so a game like that usually ships with only a few songs.
Fix
Built a beatmap generator for JamJam that listens to any track, finds the beats and the vocals, and charts a playable level in seconds.
